Check out any of the positions below and PM canityoADORES with the corresponding form filled out. You may apply for more than one position, however, keep in mind that we will most likely assign you to one position unless we have a shortage of staff.
Please title all your PMs as "RocketSubs: the position name". E.g, RocketSubs: Translator

1. Translators
Translators are the people who translate the raw video into English and write it out onto a notepad like this:

QUOTE

Right now, we are only in need of Korean translators for RocketSubs.
To be a RocketSubs translator, you should be fluent in both English & Korean. You should also be up to date with U-Kiss news and information and lastly, you must be active on Rocketboxx. If you are interested, please fill out the form below.
If you have already applied for a Rocketboxx translator and wish to participate in RocketSubs as a translator, there is no need to fill out the form below. Just PM me telling me you want to be a RocketSubs translator.

2. Timers
Timers are the people who place the subtitles at the right time (Subs appear when the person starts speaking and disappear when the person finishes speaking). Timers must have the raw video file on their PC and must be able to work with Aegisub. (If you don't know how to, don't freak! We can always help you)
Also, when you apply to be timer, you must be prepared to work efficiently once the subbing team is steady.

3. Editors
Editors should have at least some knowledge of the language being used (E.g, Korean) in the raw video. They should also be fluent in English. Editors are responsible for obtaining the same raw file as the timer and must check for any timing and translation mistakes made by the Timer and Translator.

4. Encoder
Encoders are the people who hard sub the videos. Encoders are responsible for having the raw video file and the subtitle file.
If you have already applied for a Rocketboxx uploader and wish to participate in RocketSubs as an encoder, there is no need to fill out the form below. Just PM me telling me you want to be a RocketSubs encoder.

5. Quality Checker (QC)
Quality checkers are the people who check the quality of the video before* and after the subtitles have been placed onto the video. This entails checking the quality of the raw video and the timing of the subtitles. A quality checker must have an excellent grasp of the English language, including superior knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. They are responsible for the final product.

*Quality checkers would also check the English subtitles before they are placed onto the video (before the encoder works with the video) for spelling mistakes, grammatical errors etc.

^ To be honest, I think we're going to have a huge shortage on staff (so much that I would have to take on 3 jobs at once or something).
If you join, we won't be forcing you to do your job when you are too busy. When you are free, drop us a line and we'd offer you a job.

I say just try it out, if you really think it's too much you can always depart from the team and re-join when you have more time. ^^

With SSsubs in at slow place, I don't see why it wouldn't hurt to join up.

However your order of positions seems so mixed up to me. o.o;; Maybe Im just used to different placement. X""D
My suggestion: Maybe QC should be just before encoding? Because encoding takes up quite some time (depending on the size) and it'd be a bugger if the subs were in sort of dismay after you've already encoded it? I've never done editing post timing either, I'm not saying it couldn't work this way at all though~ It might be easier to have it fully corrected before timing, and that way QC can check for lapsing subs/typeset/ect easier?? It's just a suggestion~

If I loosen up nearer midterms I may apply. (eligiable for 4/5 positions so I might be a help)

^ I think there's a misunderstanding. ^^; The order of the forms are now aren't meant to be the order of how we do things. I haven't started the order and just basically the information for the team yet. However, you have a good point and I will take that into mind when I organise more things for the subbing team.

Hello, what's the difference btw the encoder & the timer? :x Is the timer the one that puts the subs onto the video? I don't mind helping out once my exams are over (next week!) but I'm new, so :/

^ Encoder makes the video into a hardsubbed video. Timer places the translations at the right time. (But this is on a subtitles file, so it becomes a softsub) I hope that helped you.
